Raghav, great insight. It takes heaps of courage to say it like you do. Without realising it, we often get caught up in "races" just because everyone around us is running (somewhere).
There is an animal called the Lemming... cute looking, but known for making a headlong rush in huge numbers into water and drowning .
A lot of us are 'Lemmings' without realising it.
As we grow, and learn hard lessons, we get a clearer sense of who we are, and our own journey. Some of us don't, but that's not growth.
We need a compass to navigate life. Those with an external compass are driven by trying to catch up, keep up, get ahead of others. They measure success by recognition, things, money, praise, fame..
There are others who have an inner compass. This could be a temperament of thoroughness or perfection in what they do, or a desire to exceed their own standards ,like an athlete .
It is a blessing when you can find your inner compass. It sets you free.
This hit home.Something I have been going through lately and it felt better to know that I am not alone.
This is great! It’s awesome to see you open up and be vulnerable. It’s nice to hear others going through similar struggles! Awesome work!
Keep the great work coming! This is exactly the read I needed as the end of the semester approaches.
Stunning, I appreciate how authentically vulnerable and informative it was
Very eye opening and love the highway analogy, hope to see more like this from you! Great work!
Really well written and inspiring. Great work Raghav, thank you for sharing.
Can’t wait to read the next one.
Loved it Raghav. Never stop writing!
I should never try to get my self worth from external validation
From a fellow Cornell student, you've hit on a truth! This is beautifully written!
Nicely written. Many young kids will identify with that
A heartfelt note to self 💟...And you are doing just the thing that needs to be done at this point of time that is to "Go within "
Wow, Very nicely written , the boy has a very mature head on his shoulders, great analysis Raghav
Nicely articulated Raghav, it’s heartening to note the introspective theme of the post, as they say tht one has to look within more often ...
